Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela to be held on January 9

The Indian government is aiming to train 1 million youth per annum through apprenticeship training. Taking a step in this direction, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has decided to conduct the Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM) on January 9, 2023. This event will be held across 242 districts in 28 states and union territories of India.

The fair is open to the individuals who are interested in pursuing apprenticeship training with local businesses.

Registration for PMNAM is now open on the official website, apprenticeshipindia.gov.in where the Interested candidates can also find the mela’s nearest location. 

Opportunities for participating organizations and Youth

  • Apart from participation from many companies representing various sectors this apprenticeship fair will also attract several local businesses and organizations which will provide local youth with relevant opportunities to shape their careers through apprenticeship training.
  • The participating organizations will have the chance to meet potential apprentices on a single platform and choose applicants on the spot, providing them with an opportunity to strengthen their livelihood and learn new skills.
  • Through PMNAM, the candidates will also earn National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET)-recognised certifications. This will improve their employability rate after the training sessions.

Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible for this apprenticeship mela, candidates must have successfully cleared class 5 to class 12 and have skill training certificates, or ITI diploma holders or graduates. They must carry three copies of their resume, three copies of all the marksheets and certificates, photo ID (Aadhaar card/driving licence etc) and three passport size photographs to the respective venues.
