International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure

The Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) organizes an annual conference which is a crucible of decision-makers, thought leaders, academia, and institutions from across the world to work on solutions for infrastructure resilience.

The latest conference, the 5th International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI) 2023, was held on 4th and 5th of April 2023 in New Delhi, India.

The 5th edition of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) flagship conference witnessed the participation of more than 2,000 delegates from 158 countries, including the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) of Samoa, Haiti, Fiji, and the Dominican Republic, amongst others. 

The CDRI’s theme for this year’s conference is “Delivering Resilient and Inclusive Infrastructure: Pathways for Risk Informed Systems, Practices and Investments.”

The International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI) is the annual conference of CDRI and its partners.

ICDRI brings together member countries, organizations, institutions and infrastructure actors and stakeholders to strengthen the global discourse on disaster and climate resilient infrastructure.

Key highlights of The Two-Day International Conference On Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI) 2023 included the launch of several new initiatives, including a Global Study on Disaster Resilience of Airports; the Lexicon on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure; an Academic Network for training next generation of infrastructure professionals (IRAX); and CDRI’s third Fellowship Cohort.

Established as a platform for generating and exchanging knowledge, the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) seeks to promote infrastructure resilient to climate and disaster risks. The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi had launched CDRI during his speech at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York City, on 23rd September 2019.

Disaster resilience is now at the forefront of the national and international development discourse

CDRI seeks to promote infrastructure resilient to climate and disaster risks.

The CDRI Secretariat is based in New Delhi, India.

CDRI Members: Over 40 countries  It has 39 members, including 31 national governments and six multilateral organisations such as UN agencies, multilateral development banks, and financing mechanisms.
