India, Seychelles sign MoU on Maritime Cooperation

The Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region of India (IFC-IOR) and the RCOC (Regional Coordination Operations Centre), Seychelles recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further the existing cooperation in the realm of maritime safety and security.

The MoU was signed to promote collaboration between the two Centres towards enhancing maritime domain awareness, information sharing and expertise development.

IFC-IOR was established by the Government of India at Gurugram in 2018 to enhance collaborative maritime safety and security in the Indian Ocean Region in line with India’s vision of SAGAR. The SAGAR stands for Security and Growth for All in the Region. 

IFC-IOR was hosted by the Indian Navy.

Since inception, IFC-IOR has established linkages with several multinational maritime security centres.

The agreement intends to enhance cooperation in the realm of maritime security
