Fourth G-20 Tourism Working Group Meeting

Under the framework of G20, Ministry of Tourism is organizing its 4th Tourism Working Group meeting from from 19th to 22nd June 2023 in Goa

The first  Tourism Working Group meeting was held from 7th to 9th February 2023 in Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. The 2nd Tourism Working Group meeting was organised from 1st to 3rd April in Siliguri in West Bengal.

3rd Tourism Working Group meeting was organized from from 22nd to 24th May 2023 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir

The 4rd Tourism Working Group Meeting’ will deliberate on the five key priority areas 
1) Green Tourism
2) Digitalization
3) Skills
4) MSMEs 
5) Destination Management. 

These priorities are key building blocks for accelerating the transition of the tourism sector and achieve the targets for 2030 SDGs.

Excursion visits have been planned to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the State viz. the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Church of St Francis of Assisi and Se  Cathedral, Lower Aguada Fort and Jail Museum etc.

Basilica of Bom Jesus 
Constructed between 1594 and 1605, the Basilica of Bom Jesus is the resting place of the withered body of renowned sixteenth-century missionary Francis Xavier He is considered to be one of the original seven founders of the Jesuit order. 
 

Se Cathedral
Se Cathedra, one of the earliest churches of Goa, was built to commemorate the conquest of the Portuguese under Afonso de Albuquerque over the ruler of Adilshahi dynasty of Bijapu, resulting in the annexation of the city of Goa in February 1510. One of the largest churches in Asia, Se Cathedral is one of the finest specimens of Portuguese-Gothic architecture.
