International Transport Forum (ITF): The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the signing of Contract between the Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), India and France to support the International Transport Forum (ITF) activities on the Indian Transport Sector.

• The Contract was signed on July, 6, 2022.
• The results of the actions taken in accordance with this Contract will lead to: -

1. New scientific results
2. New policy insights
3. Capacity building through increase scientific interaction and
4. Identification of technology options for decarbonization of transport sector in India.

• Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) is an autonomous organization set up in 1988 under the Department of Science & Technology (DST).
• The mandate of TIFAC is to look ahead in technology domain, assess the technology trajectories, and support innovation by networked actions in select areas of national importance.
• It continues to strive for technology development in the country by leveraging technology innovation through sustained and concerted programmes in close association with industry and academia.
