ARAI and llT Guwahati Sign MoU

Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI ) has signed an MoU with llT Guwahati for establishment of Common Engineering Facility Center titled “Digital Twin Center for Emerging Automotive Systems” in Hub and Spoke model.

A digital twin is a digital representation of a physitical object, person, or process, contextualized in a digital version of its environment.

ARAI is an autonomous body under the aegis of the  Ministry of Heavy Industries. Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) is co-operative industrial research association by the automotive industry.

ARAI is India’s leading automotive R&D organization set up in 1966 by automotive industry and Government. ARAI is located at Pune, India. 

The Common Engineering Facility Center ( CEFC) is being established under Capital Goods scheme Phase  II of  Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI ) by ARAI along with Industry Partner named Micelio Mobility Pvt Ltd. titled “Digital Twin Center for Emerging Automotive Systems" in Hub and Spoke model. 

Establishment of Digital Twin Centre for Emerging Automotive Systems will help the MSMEs and Start-ups in experimenting, experiencing, upskilling and finding solutions using this domain for their needs.

What is a Digital Twin?
A digital twin is a digital model of an intended or actual real-world physical product, system, or process (a physical twin) that serves as the effectively indistinguishable digital counterpart of it for practical purposes, such as simulation, integration, testing, monitoring, and maintenance.
